MRP is searching for a passionate and agile Die Maker I who considers themselves problem-solvers and excited by challenges and the opportunity to build something great with us. As Die Maker in the Die Shop Department, you will be responsible for building dies for all Die Cutting Equipment.

Requirements

  • Possess an ability to work together as a Die Cutting Team and embrace how your job impacts the whole team. You are the person “behind the scenes” making it happen.
  • Can accept feedback and use it to grow in your position.
  • Adept at working with your hands on tooling and machines.
  • Must have basic computer skills or the ability to learn basic skills.
  • Be able to read and understand design drawings.
  • Uses shop mathematics and various types of precision measuring instruments.
  • Operate and run a motorized hand truck and pallet jack.
  • Must be able to stand/walk all day and be able to lift to 35-40 pounds.
  • Excellent endurance to stand and move about the work area all day.
  • Keen vision for small details.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience working in a print shop.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, complete and repair dies effectively and efficiently.
  • Selects allowances and devises mechanism detail
  • Performs difficult tool room machine operations. This includes CAD/GERBER/CIMEX/MULTI BENDER technologies (as these technologies exist or arise)
  • Complete required documentation, providing location and history of dies.
  • Order Die Cutting department supplies.
  • Coordinate Die Cutting training, workflow, and trouble shooting.
  • Research new equipment and processes to improve quality and efficiency.
  • Cut and complete press coating blankets.
  • Perform general maintenance and cleaning for the Gerber table.
  • Coordinate outside services, if needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
