About The Position

The Tool and Die Maker is responsible for designing, fabricating, repairing, and maintaining tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and other precision equipment used in the manufacturing process. This position ensures that tools and dies meet the required specifications for production efficiency and quality standards. The Tool and Die Maker works closely with other manufacturing teams to optimize tool performance and support continuous improvement efforts.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Tool and Die Maker in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Strong knowledge of machining tools and equipment, including CNC machines.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work with precision and attention to detail.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with tool fabrication and repair.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Familiarity with safety standards and the proper use of PPE in a manufacturing setting.
  • Good communication skills to work effectively with engineering, production, and other departments.
  • Experience in transfer tooling, miniature retainer bearings.

Responsibilities

  • Design, fabricate, and repair tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures as per production requirements and engineering specifications.
  • Operate various machines such as lathes, mills, grinders, and CNC equipment to fabricate precision tools.
  • Review blueprints, drawings, and work orders to determine tool requirements and specifications.
  • Inspect and test tools and dies to ensure they meet quality and safety standards.
  • Troubleshoot and repair tools, dies, and other manufacturing equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Perform routine maintenance and adjustments to tools and dies to ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve tooling issues and improve production efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate records of tool specifications, repairs, and maintenance activities.
  • Follow safety guidelines and protocols, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), while operating machinery and handling tools.
  • Keep the toolroom area clean and organized to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts to optimize tool design, performance, and manufacturing processes.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
