We are seeking a Die Change Specialist to join our Casa Grande team, specializing in high-quality plumbing products and fixtures. In this role, you will work as part of a team led by a Die Change Lead to remove and install dies into presses. The Die Change team also connects steam and hydraulics and sets up fixtures and automation on presses. Responsibilities include completing die changeovers according to Kohler’s operating standards and within the allocated time per standard. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic, willing to learn the ins and outs of the die change process, and always looking for ways to grow and improve.

Requirements

  • Must be able to work in the US without restrictions or sponsorship.
  • Effective communication skills for manufacturing production processes.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Ability to work a 7-day rotating 12-hour shift and schedule with ability to work weekdays and weekends.
  • A strong work ethic that includes the ability to work 8-, 10-, or 12-hour shifts while sitting, standing, bending, twisting, and lifting.
  • The flexibility to change shifts as the plant moves into future phases of production and operability.
  • Physical Capability: Ability to perform the essential duties of the position, including bending, lifting, and pushing weights of up to 40 pounds or more. Physical ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Screening: Successful completion of a drug screen and background check.
  • Reliability: Consistent attendance and work performance.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow all safety policies and procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • A minimum of 2 years of manufacturing preferred.
  • Have previous experience in a Die/Mold Change role preferred.
  • Have previous experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Have a natural ability to problem solve and continuously improve safety, quality, and productivity.
  • A positive, adaptable, hard-working, and patient mindset.
  • A willingness to help with activities that may be outside of your job scope, especially as plant operations transition.

Responsibilities

  • Follow established safety procedures for removal and installation of dies/molds.
  • Locate dies and safely transport them to the die pre-heat station.
  • Connect all required steam lines to the dies and update the pre-heat station board.
  • Assist the Die Change team in the removal of molds from presses.
  • Assists the Die Change team in the installation of new dies into presses.
  • Cleans up area and tools; returns tools to designated area.
  • Performs die changes in such a manner that will keep press downtime to a minimum.
  • Maintains die storage area, tool area, and supplies area in a clean and orderly manner.
  • Inspects and tags all robot end-of-arm tooling (EOAT) and fixtures after completing die changes.
  • Clean EOAT and/or fixtures, as needed.
  • Red tag EOAT and/or fixtures, as needed, and transfer to the Maintenance team.
  • Ensure fixtures and arms are stored in the correct location in the plant.
  • Complete required records and reports and submit them to the Shift General Supervisor by the end of each shift.
  • Participate in the safety, 5S, and good housekeeping programs as established within the plant.
  • Perform other related duties consistent with the nature of the job as directed by the Lead Die Changer or the Shift General Supervisor.
  • Complete daily standard worksheets for Die Change Specialists.
