Requirements

  • Master's degree and valid Texas Teacher's Certificate or Diagnostician Certification (as required by the State Board for Educator Certification)
  • Minimum three (3) years of teaching experience
  • Knowledge of diagnostic procedures, special education, and learning theories
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to interpret data and exercise sound judgment
  • DOJ/FBI background check and TB clearance
  • Eligibility to work in the US

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working as a Diagnostician in a Texas public school district
  • Familiarity with Frontline/eSPED systems
  • Bilingual in Spanish/English

Responsibilities

  • Lead Full and Individual Evaluations and three-year re-evaluations for students with disabilities
  • Serve as Chairperson of ARD/IEP Committees to determine student placement and programming
  • Finalize and implement IEPs with instructional staff and monitor their effectiveness
  • Ensure accuracy of Frontline/eSPED reports for the Superintendent's annual report
  • Manage state eligibility folders, ensuring confidentiality and organization
  • Provide consultation to staff and parents on related services for students with disabilities
  • Assist in selecting assessment materials and evaluate the assessment program
  • Ensure compliance with special education laws and district policies
  • Attend special education meetings and interpret the philosophy and rationale of services to staff and the community
