About The Position

The Educational Diagnostician will be responsible for assessing the educational, learning, and developmental needs of students to support appropriate educational programming. This individual will collaborate with campus and district personnel, families, and other stakeholders to determine student eligibility for special education services and to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) that promote student success.

Requirements

  • Valid Texas certification as an Educational Diagnostician
  • Valid Texas certification as a teacher
  • Minimum of two years of successful teaching experience, preferably in special education
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting comprehensive educational assessments
  • In-depth knowledge of federal and state special education laws and regulations
  • Proficiency in administering, scoring, and interpreting educational and cognitive assessments
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to effectively manage time and multiple tasks across various campuses
  • Capacity to collaborate constructively with colleagues, parents, and outside agencies

Nice To Haves

  • Special education teaching experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Conduct individual student assessments in accordance with federal, state, and local policies to determine special education eligibility.
  • Prepare written evaluation reports and present findings to Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) Committees.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in the development and review of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Provide consultation to teachers, administrators, and parents regarding instructional strategies, accommodations, and modifications to support student success.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of evaluation processes and outcomes.
  • Participate in ARD meetings and contribute expertise regarding student needs and educational programming.
  • Ensure compliance with IDEA and other applicable laws and regulations.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to remain current on best practices in assessment and special education.
  • Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
