About The Position

Atlantic Health is seeking a Full-Time Medical Physicist Assistant for the Radiation Physics & Safety Department at Morristown Medical Center. Primary coverage will be at Morristown Medical Center, with cross-coverage at other AHS facilities expected. This position will report to the Manager/Chief Physicist .

Requirements

• High School Diploma
• Minimum 5 years clinical experience.
• Excellent communication skills are essential.
• Proficiency in basic Microsoft Word & Excel.
• Must be able to lift 20 pounds (as part of carrying out responsibilities in QA testing on imaging units, using a variety of Physics equipment; as well as assisting with the leaded apparel integrity check program).

Nice To Haves

• NJ Certification as Medical Physicist Assistant in Radiography & Fluoroscopy (preferred).
• Certification as a Radiologic Technologist or Radiation Therapist (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing a comprehensive QA/QC program that includes Physics testing of radiographic & fluoroscopic x-ray imaging devices consistent with regulatory requirements.
• Assist with radiation safety program maintenance involving area surveys, meter calibrations, radiation dosimetry monitoring.
• Shipping & receiving of various equipment used for Physics testing and radiation protection surveys, for calibration & repair.
• Assist with implementing leaded apparel integrity check program.
• Assist with shipping of radioactive QC sources.
• Provide cross-campus coverage to other Atlantic Health sites, as needed
• Carrying out other duties as assigned.
