About The Position

The Office of University Ministry creates a welcoming environment, accompanying our campus community on their varied spiritual journeys. The Programming Student Lead will guide University Ministry work-study staff in developing and implementing programs for the wider student community rooted in the major focus areas of University Ministry. Applicants must have prior campus ministry participation and proven experience developing and implementing spiritual and community building programs at Regis University. This position must be prepared to provide training and mentorship for other student ministers, as well as provide general office and events support. This is a departmentally funded position not to exceed 4 hours/week.

Requirements

  • As part of hiring process, students should be prepared to describe interest in working with University Ministry as well as identify programs, activities, etc that they hope to support
  • Have prior experience participating with University Ministry and developing student-centric programs on campus
  • Students do not need to be Catholic to work for University Ministry but must be willing to learn about and support the wide variety of programming offered, for both Catholic and non-Catholic members of our community.

Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in the work of building community, accompanying others on their various spiritual journeys, engaging in justice and advocacy.
  • Support the staff and general operations of University Ministry. Duties may include greeting visitors, answering phones, responding to emails, organizing office space and supplies, setting up/cleaning up special events, data entry, running errands on campus, etc. All UMin staff must plan to spend occasional work hours on evening or weekend activities.
  • Collaborate with other departments to execute programming and activities as needed.
  • Take an active leadership role in supporting specific ministry projects.
  • The Programming Student lead will guide other student ministers in designing, developing and executing programs to engage undergraduate students with University Ministry. Programs will be hosted in various spaces, times and with varying themes, to reach a wide audience.
  • Programming lead will support peers in: Identifying projects to align with UMin objectives and learning themes, including diverse spiritual, justice-oriented and community-development focuses. Developing advertising and recruiting efforts (e.g., social media, bulletin boards, tabling) Completing necessary program proposals, supply procurement, scheduling, etc in conjunction with UMin pro-staff
  • Maintain positive and proactive behaviors with visitors, coworkers and staff
  • Move efficiently and willingly between multiple tasks
  • Learn and remember complicated procedures and policies and be willing to ask questions
  • Work effectively and responsibly without close supervision after receiving instructions
  • Be punctual, dependable, and honest
  • Answer questions, both directional and informational, in a friendly, patient manner
  • Communicate clearly, efficiently, and respectfully both in-person and electronically
  • Utilize MS Office Suite, Google Suite and Canva occasionally
  • Work collaboratively with other student ministers, staff and other departments
  • Attend monthly staff meetings (one Thursday evening each month)
  • Meet with a mentor approximately twice a month

Benefits

  • These positions are benefits-eligible for workers’ compensation and will receive 1 hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked, up to a maximum of 48 hours per year.
