POSITION SUMMARY The Development Sales Manager is responsible for hiring, coaching, training, and developing newly hired Junior Mortgage Consultants and Mortgage Consultants (MC) during the initial phase of their career at Newrez. This role accelerates the growth of junior talent and prepares them for graduation into Veteran Sales Teams (VSTs), ensuring a smooth handoff with strong ramp productivity and high compliance standards. DESCRIPTION Duties and Responsibilities Coach and mentor Jr MCs and MCs through daily floor engagement, call reviews, and individualized performance feedback. Facilitate structured training sessions using company-provided curricula and custom development plans aligned to each consultant’s skill gaps. Hire and onboard Jr MCs/MCs in partnership with Talent Acquisition; lead interview panels, provide selection feedback, and own the first‑30/60/90‑day ramp plan. Monitor individual production metrics (contacts, applications started, PAL issuance speed, lock/submit rates) and provide actionable, data‑driven guidance to improve performance. Conduct weekly performance reviews and stack rankings to identify top performers and targeted remediation areas; document coaching commitments and follow‑ups. Collaborate with Sales Coaches, Compliance, and Leadership to align development goals with Newrez standards and product strategies. Ensure full compliance with Newrez Code of Conduct, licensing requirements, and applicable regulations across all training and live‑call activities. Plan and manage graduation of successful Jr MCs/MCs into Veteran Sales Teams, including readiness sign‑off and handoff briefings. Host on‑site role‑plays, side‑by‑sides, and live call blocks to reinforce skills and quality. Stay current on industry trends, internal program updates, pricing, and product eligibility to keep training relevant and effective. Ability to effectively and accurately convey information to others. Perform related duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • 6-8 years ‘of mortgage industry experience (e.g., inside sales, retail/consumer direct, or specialized purchase programs).
  • NMLS License required.
  • Must have completed at least 90 days of employment at Newrez.
  • Must currently hold a Mortgage Consultant title.
  • Demonstrated coaching/mentoring capability with a passion for talent development.
  • Ability to connect quickly with people in an outgoing, friendly manner.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; confident facilitator.
  • Detail‑oriented with strong organization and time‑management.
  • Ability to prioritize and self‑manage in a fast‑paced, metric‑driven environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM/telephony platforms; comfortable with dashboards and scorecards.
  • Familiarity with Newrez systems, loan products, and compliance standards.
  • Ability to pass background check required for state licensing.
  • Working on-site at assigned office location.
  • Regular and punctual attendance adhering to schedule established by leadership.
  • Flexibility to work occasional adjusted work schedules, overtime, and evening and/or weekend hours to meet deadlines or as business needs demand.
  • Working in a cubicle hub, maintaining focus on phone calls in a noisy environment within earshot of multiple other conversations.
  • Sedentary work in a stationary position at a cubicle for prolonged periods of time.
  • Constant repetitive motions required for operating a computer, such as typing and managing phone calls.
  • Constantly communicating effectively verbally in English, including accurately exchanging information with others following identification of correct procedures.
  • All employees are required to have smart phones that meet Company security standards with the ability to install apps such as Okta Verify and Microsoft Authenticator.
