As Development Officer, you will work on various activities and programs that support the fundraising priorities of Cleveland Clinic. You will play a vital role in securing philanthropic gifts through the process of identifying, qualifying, strategizing, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major gift prospects. A caregiver in this position works a hybrid schedule, Monday-Friday from 8:00AM – 5:00PM.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Minimum of three years directly related work experience in major gift fundraising.
  • An Advanced Degree and/or three years of experience in sales, marketing or related field may offset years of experience.
  • Ability to establish and maintain friendly and cooperative relations with corporate executives, donors and staff physicians.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum three years of fundraising or face-to-face solicitation experience with major gifts preferred.
  • Willingness to conduct in-person and virtual donor meetings in Northeast Ohio, Florida and nationally per assigned region.
  • Working knowledge of fundraising techniques and strategies preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Identifies prospects using various database, volunteers and internal colleagues.
  • Strategically move prospects through the development cycle from qualification to cultivation to solicitation to closing to stewardship.
  • Meets monthly and yearly metrics with respect to prospect and donor visits, solicitations, and dollars raised.
  • Coordinates donor interests with the priorities of the organization and develops funding proposals to match interests with needs.
  • Collaborates with internal colleagues dedicated to different medical areas.
  • Build relationships with prospects and donors, typically initiated through cold calls.
  • Coordinate independent trips to meet with prospects and donors.
  • Responsible for meeting monthly activity metrics and annual financial goals.
  • Other duties as assigned.
