As a Qualcomm Software Application Engineer, you will provide technical expertise of software systems through technical presentations in support of business development, product demonstrations, design and development of customer specific requirements, commercialization, and maintenance of Qualcomm products. Qualcomm Engineers collaborate with cross-functional teams and customers to address questions, issues, debugging, or troubleshooting regarding software systems and applications.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Software Applications Engineering, Software Development experience, or related work experience.
• OR Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Software Applications Engineering, Software Development experience, or related work experience.
• OR PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Applications Engineering, Software Development experience, or related work experience.
• 2+ years of experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
• 1+ year of experience with debugging techniques.

Nice To Haves

• Plays a critical role in assessment of the Qualcomm developer platforms as the alpha user of developer kits and toolchains
• Files usability friction logs for developer kits
• Produces sample Code/starter templates
• Publishes task oriented golden workflows for out of box, AI, Robotics etc.
• Publishes target use case reference designs (HW/SW recipes) e.g., robotics, industrial automation etc.
• Trains Qualcomm FAEs with hands-on workshops
• Conducts hackathons, meetups, and webinars
• Engages on technical community forums (Github, Discord, Stack Overflow) and provides actionable feedback to PDMs and engineering.
• Produces videos, blogs, tutorials, demos
• Evangelizes platform
• Explores competitive toolchains/developer engagement methodologies
• Guides developers on Linux BSP, Qualcomm developer and tech tools, IDE, profilers, power etc.
• Engages ecosystem partners to develop kits and solutions

Responsibilities

• Leverages advanced Software Application knowledge to provide technical expertise of software systems through technical presentations in support of business development, customer training, product demonstrations, commercialization, customization, and maintenance of Qualcomm products.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams and customer personnel to identify customer problems, debug complex issues in customer design software systems, and recommend innovative solutions.
• Drives system architecture and feature-specific customizations tailored for customer requirements from proof of concept to final product commercial launches.
• Assesses potential application of company products, prepares detailed product specifications, disseminates technical information on specific software areas, and/or troubleshoots complex issues regarding software tools and products.
• Writes detailed and complex product technical documentation, application notes, and FAQs.
