Dandy is hiring an IT Systems Administrator I to join our rapidly growing venture-backed company. The IT Department owns all technology needs for Dandy. In this role, you’ll assist the IT Manufacturing and Supply Chain Team with various tasks to ensure the high reliability of the IT infrastructure. What You'll Do Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of computer hardware, software, and peripherals Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to network, server, and workstation systems, and cloud systems Monitor system performance and ensure the availability and reliability of all IT systems Manage user accounts and access controls, including Active Directory and other authentication mechanisms Provide technical support to end-users, including remote support Assist with IT projects and initiatives as needed Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in the field of IT Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours support and incident response On-site office support to be provided five days per week Additional req qual notes Servers: Hyper-V cluster, 2 physical servers with a SAN. Probably a dozen VM’s on that. Can largely be managed by my team as well. There isn’t a lot of server work. They will set up users with AD and google. No standing up servers. This is lab technician support. Helping set up stations, move stations around. Setting up computers for new hires or refreshes. Break fixes, hooked to printers. We call it a sys admin but more of a tier 2 or 3 help desk role. We use google workspace shop. They make key fobs. They put into google and AD on prem. They don’t hav eto have gogole workspace experience. Google is usually just changing passwords. It’s probably a 50/50 mix in hardware vs. software. We have a dell detachable, we call them tablets. The problems can be hardware connectivity, scanners, bar codes, etc. Then just miscellaneous. The labs are primarily windows, but we have some Mac teams. Windows is 70%. We use Jira service manager. That’s where our ticketing and project management. We use a ton of Slack. There is some Microsoft office for some people. They manage that themselves. We are deploying Microsoft intune. Google Workspace Suite would be great, Slack, Jira, chrome, printer. Networking – we have some involvement there, but we can probably manage here. Maybe set a VLAN from time to time. Years of experience 2-3. Hard worker, go getter. Someone that is personable. From plugging in a mouse to setting up a new computer. Escalation would go to Evan and his team. We do stand up meetings and heavy communication with Slack. We will send one of our Leigh High engineers down to Dallas to help onboard the new guy. We have IT people scattered throughout the country.
