About The Position

The Desktop Technician I is primarily responsible for providing technical assistance and support to computer system users via the Help Desk. Additionally, the Desktop Technician I is expected to provide assistance concerning the use of computer hardware, software and peripheral equipment in person, via telephone, or from a remote location, while representing EHN in a professional and courteous manner at all times. This position does not have supervisory responsibility but is expected to provide guidance to employees and/or assist with orientation and training of new employees of the work group.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience as an IT technician or Help Desk agent.
  • An equivalent combination of education, experience and training that would provide the knowledge, skills and abilities required for the successful performance of the essential job duties.
  • Must possess a current and valid driver’s license in the state of residence.
  • Working knowledge of common operating systems (Windows 7/10/11) and software applications (MS Active Directory and Windows Office Suite).
  • Basic knowledge of Windows Operating Systems, hardware and components
  • Familiarity with imaging processes.
  • Ability to perform basic troubleshooting of hardware, software, and network connectivity issues.
  • Understanding of antivirus tools, workstation security practices, and fundamental IT procedures.
  • Ability to follow documentation, technical instructions, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to communicate clearly with users of varying technical skill levels.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize work, and remain calm during high demand periods.
  • Professional and respectful interactions with physicians, staff, vendors, and patients.
  • Ability to work independently and seek guidance when needed.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings, weekends, and travel to other sites.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Nextgen EMR systems management preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with installing hardware, software, and peripheral equipment according to established procedures.
  • Perform basic workstation, laptop, and thin client imaging and deployment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve common issues with PC hardware, operating systems, and standard business applications.
  • Respond to Help Desk tickets, phone support requests, and onsite service needs while maintaining accurate and detailed notes.
  • Maintain daily documentation including ticket logs, installation records, and basic how to reference materials.
  • Support account setup and maintenance in Active Directory, O365, and other enterprise systems under guidance.
  • Perform routine workstation updates, minor repairs, and general maintenance.
  • Interface with vendors as directed for equipment warranty or repair services.
  • Assist users with hardware/software questions and provide basic training when needed.
  • Stay informed about technology updates and changes within the organization.
  • Follow all company policies, IT procedures, and regulatory requirements including HIPAA and OSHA standards.
  • Assist with hardware inventory distribution and tracking.
  • Other duties which may be necessary or desirable to serve the patient and support the success of the department or the company overall.
