About The Position

The Desktop Support Technician is responsible for supporting local and remote office computing network operations and procedures. The Technician will work to install, troubleshoot, and support personal computers, mobile devices, printers, network connections, desk phones, and provide support for software and hardware needs.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of experience in similar Help Desk support role.
  • High School diploma required.
  • Excellent personal computer, mobile device, network, and printer troubleshooting technical skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into user-friendly easy to understand language.
  • Proficiency in Windows 10 and 11 operating systems as well as MS Office.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Knowledge of networking concepts and the ability to troubleshoot network printing and wireless issues.
  • Willingness to drive to other local offices, ex. Bolingbrook and Lisle, for help desk support as needed (mileage reimbursement provided).
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Install personal computers, mobile device, desk phones, and printers for new employees.
  • Provide overall support for software and hardware needs.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to personal computers, phones, and printers.
  • Provide basic network troubleshooting and diagnosis.
  • Provide excellent Help Desk customer service while responding to phone, email and walk-up requests from users.
  • Use technical, analytical and communication skills to accurately identify user PC needs and provide solutions.
  • Log help desk activities in the tracking system in a complete, accurate and timely manner.
  • Identify critical user and system issues and escalate to the Help Desk Manager when needed.
  • Conduct system user training for new programs, when necessary.
  • Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned.
  • Ensure all aspects of client devices are securely configured.
  • Take rotations for “after-hours” on call support responsibilities as required to maintain 24X7 coverage for critical issues.
