About The Position

prosource.it is a global IT Managed Service provider working with Medium to Enterprise level, global clients and looking for an IT Desktop Support Technician who is interested in joining a global, enterprise level team who are delivering technical solutions to our internal business partners to drive processes and meet business requirements. We are looking to hire a skilled IT Desktop Support Engineer to join an established team the supports users working on the North Slope in Alaska. This is an opportunity to work for a major oil and gas company. The team provides L1 and L2 IT support for around 800 users, and works a rotation schedule. Air travel to and from the North Slope (via Anchorage), accommodation and food whilst working on the facility, are all company funded. An effective Desktop Support Specialist must be great at communicating with customers in person and over the phone. They should also empathy, patience, and skill to understand and resolve the customer’s problem. Customer service is a key component of success. As is critical thinking, and strong problem-solving abilities. Comfortable with a rotation based schedule (2 weeks on and 2 weeks off), working 12 hour days. Willingness to travel as a flight is required to get to the North Slope via Anchorage.

Requirements

  • 1-5+ years of IT Desktop Support experience
  • BSc in Computer Science or relevant field
  • Strong communications skills
  • Highly customer focused

  • Strong problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to make rational decisions under pressure
  • Proven ability to work within a team
