About The Position

The Global VM & Retail Experience Designer partners closely with internal teams (Creative Services, Creative, Store Design, etc.) and the Global VM Director to ensure M·A·C’s visual merchandising presentations are consistent, elevated, and reflective of global brand standards across all channels. This role is responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and executing global visual merchandising solutions that translate brand strategy into impactful in-store experiences. The Designer will lead graphic development, fixture form exploration, and execution of tester and merchandising units for both permanent and seasonal programs, while issuing clear and scalable global merchandising guidelines. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong conceptual thinking, technical execution (2D and 3D), and the ability to implement global strategies efficiently and effectively.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years experience in merchandising, visual display, styling, events or related areas - preferably luxury beauty brands
  • Beauty experience is REQUIRED
  • Experience with visual merchandising design, including tester displays and gondola designs
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high pressure, creative environment.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), Rhino, Keyshot, Sketchup
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task with agility
  • Must be a self-starter, flexible and imaginative with an understanding of 3D design
  • Can take direction, work independently and collaboratively
  • Knowledge of retail trends, and SMC environments

Responsibilities

  • Translate creative briefs into visually impactful, brand-right designs that are clear, navigable, and aligned with channel strategies.
  • Develop 3D renderings and 2D graphics to support global and regional needs, including permanent displays, launch programs, digital guidelines, and in-store artwork.
  • Concept and design permanent and seasonal merchandising units, including tester units and fixture elements.
  • Create and issue global visual merchandising and graphic guidelines for launch and evergreen programs.
  • Partner closely with Store Design to ensure optimal product display, functionality, and elevated retail experience.
  • Design competitive top-shelf and feature displays that differentiate M·A·C and highlight key launches or core assortments.
  • Support the Global VM Director in the execution of all visual needs (graphics, permanent displayers, presentations, guidelines, etc.).
  • Maintain organized global libraries of graphics and open-sell fixture files across retailers and regions.
  • Assessment of creative requests and ability to formulate initial design proposals with little direction.
  • Development and presentation of concepts to all levels of management.
