About The Position

At MilliporeSigma, the Designer/Drafter 2 will work with a team of designers dedicated to generating/revising CAD drawings for quotes, prototypes and engineering change requests as well as supporting the Manufacturing floor as issues arise in assembly builds. The Designer/Drafter 2 is also in regular communication with Sales, Manufacturing, and other Engineering departments.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, etc.) with 1+ year of experience in Computer Aided Drafting
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Materials etc) or other Engineering discipline
  • 3+ years of experience with CAD Software OR internship with CAD software

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Salesforce.com, EPDM, SAP, Oracle, MS Office, ManGo.
  • Strong CAD skills, specifically in SolidWorks with assemblies, exploded views, and detailed drawings.
  • Ability to solve problems of moderate scope and complexity following established policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects, skilled multi-tasker, meet established deadlines, and follow up on requests for action or information.
  • Ability to learn new skills.
  • Commitment to customer satisfaction both internally and externally.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work semi-independently, with minimal to moderate supervision.
  • Strong sense of responsibility, urgency, enthusiasm, and high energy.
  • Ability to work in a team and cross function departments environment.

Responsibilities

  • Generate and revise CAD drawings in SolidWorks
  • Update bill of material and routing information in ERP system
  • Utilize additional software platforms including Salesforce.com, EPDM, SAP, Oracle, MS Office, ManGo
