Onboard Systems Hoist & Winch, located in Anaheim, CA is one of the world’s leading providers of Search & Rescue (SAR) and Human External Cargo (HEC) advanced mission equipment for civil, commercial, and military helicopters.

Position Overview
Location: Anaheim, CA (Onsite)
Shift: M-F

The Designer/Drafter will support in creating CAD Drawings/Modules under the guidance of senior engineers. This role will be working in a focused, cross-functional team of engineers and support a variety of activities in the discipline including component design, investigating design factors, developing preliminary design, making layouts of assemblies, components, and sub-assemblies.

Requirements

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) or equivalent experience
• 2 years of prior relevant experience.
• A working knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes
• Experience with SolidWorks 2023, NX 1953.
• Experience with Teamcenter and Jira.
• Experience with ASMEY14.5-2018 Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
• Experience with MIL-STD-100 Engineering Drawing Practices.

Responsibilities

• Thoroughly review and understand product specifications and determine design requirements and scope of work.
• Generate design concepts in conformance and ensure that adequate trade studies and analyses are performed to arrive at optimum design configurations.
• Proficient in SolidWorks and/or NX CAD.
• Coordinate with the Drafting group on preparation of drawings, perform initial engineering drawing check, and submit design for approval and release.
• Support design verification testing and coordination with the test department.
• Interface with other functional groups and departments as required in the development of the product design.
• Use department computer technology in an independent and productive manner.
• Have a working knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes.
• Familiar with the ASME design Standards.
• Develop conceptual mechanical designs.
• Assist in developing Standard Job Instructions.
• Support in Teamcenter Activities.
• Review and Validate Drawings and Part BOMs.
