Under the direction of the Chief Medical Officer, the Designated Medical Provider functions as the Pediatric Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (P-SANE) or Designated Medical Provider to provide trauma-informed, developmentally appropriate medical-forensic care to pediatric patients who are victims or suspected victims of sexual assault or abuse. This on-call, casual position plays a critical role within the Child Advocacy Center (CAC) multidisciplinary team (MDT), working collaboratively with the Patient Advocate and Forensic Interviewer to ensure compassionate, coordinated, and legally sound care that prioritizes the child’s physical and emotional well-being.
