Under the supervision of a designated supervisor and assigned physician, the Medical Assistant II Designated Float performs direct patient care and clinical duties in accordance with organizational standards. This includes ensuring the completeness of ordered procedures and treatments, maintaining smooth patient flow, performing general lab work, instructing patients on procedures and treatments, and accurately carrying out medical orders and referrals. The role also encompasses administrative tasks such as patient registration, scheduling, EMR file maintenance, and general front office functions. If directed by an assigned physician, the MA II may perform computerized physician order entry. A key aspect of this role is the expectation to precept current MA team members or MA Externs as requested by leadership.
