About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Design Optimization Specialist with strong mechanical design experience in Switchgear , Sheet Metal , Plastic Component Design , and proficiency in tools like Creo , Windchill , and AutoCAD . The ideal candidate will support mechanical optimization projects, perform data analysis, ensure quality in design deliverables, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to improve product performance and manufacturing efficiency.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Creo , Windchill , and AutoCAD .
  • Strong experience in Sheet Metal and Plastic Component Design .
  • Knowledge and experience in Switchgear design (mandatory).
  • Understanding of mechanical engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
  • Strong analytical ability to process and interpret complex datasets.
  • Skilled in evaluating design performance and identifying optimization opportunities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with engineering and manufacturing teams.
  • Detail-oriented with strong focus on quality.
  • Self-sufficient, proactive, and capable of working independently.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in mechanical design within Switchgear , Power Distribution , or Electrical Equipment Manufacturing industries.
  • Experience supporting engineering change management, design reviews, and manufacturing support.

Responsibilities

  • Mechanical Design & Optimization Support and execute mechanical design optimization projects to improve product performance and reduce manufacturing cost.
  • Work on NPD (New Product Development) activities involving sheet-metal and plastic component design.
  • Develop and optimize designs considering manufacturability, reliability, and cost.
  • Data Collection & Analysis Collect raw engineering and production data for analysis.
  • Conduct detailed evaluations to support data-driven decision-making and project prioritization.
  • Quality Assurance & Documentation Provide quality assurance for mechanical designs, models, and Bills of Materials (BOM).
  • Ensure all design outputs meet engineering standards and product requirements.
  • Cost / Benefit Analysis Prepare and support cost‑benefit analyses for design changes or new optimization initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to validate feasibility and ROI.
  • Troubleshooting & Cross‑Functional Collaboration Work closely with manufacturing teams to troubleshoot design-related issues.
  • Provide clarification on engineering drawings, tolerances, design intent, and manufacturability concerns.
