Emerson is seeking a Design Optimization Engineering Lead to drive optimization of designs through a mix of leadership, planning, and hands on engineering activities. Focused specifically on the Fisher branded line of products, this position is part of Emerson Final Control, a leader in optimizing process operations around the world known for our team of experts and proven performance and reliability of products. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, or related technical field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in engineering, product development, or sustaining engineering roles.
  • Strong understanding of engineering change processes and product lifecycle management.
  • Ability to create and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Proficiency in authoring test plans and performing validation testing.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with supply chain processes and cost modeling.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional teams in a global environment.
  • Experience working in multiple discipline engineering teams.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate technical aspects of savings opportunities to ensure the highest value and lowest risk projects are pursued
  • Directly create markups, author test plans, perform testing, and submit change requests.
  • Collaborate with CAD, technicians, test departments, and other engineering specialties to ensure the successful completion of the project
  • Align with supply chain as the primary customer for priorities and deliverables.
  • Create and communicate dashboards of cost savings status to stakeholders
  • Support proof of concept evaluation and testing of cost savings opportunities on new product development
