About The Position

Techno is assembling seeking a Design Manager to lead engineering design efforts across a range of infrastructure projects. This role is responsible for managing the full design lifecycle, from early concept through final deliverables, while coordinating multidisciplinary teams and ensuring high-quality technical outcomes. You will serve as a central point of coordination between internal teams, clients, and external partners, helping drive design execution, maintain schedules, and align deliverables with project objectives. This position is ideal for someone who combines strong technical expertise with leadership and project management experience in a consulting or infrastructure environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, or related discipline)
  • 7–10+ years of progressive experience in engineering design, preferably within infrastructure or consulting environments
  • Proficiency with design tools such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, Revit, or similar platforms depending on discipline
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a deadline-driven environment
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or active progress toward licensure required

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage engineering design activities from concept development through final design, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, and budget
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and specialty consultants
  • Act as a primary client contact during the design phase, maintaining clear communication and managing expectations
  • Oversee preparation of design documents, drawings, and technical specifications to ensure quality and completeness
  • Facilitate design reviews, coordination meetings, and technical workshops across project stakeholders
  • Identify design risks, constructability challenges, and technical constraints, and guide teams toward effective solutions
  • Support project pursuits, including proposal development, technical input, and client presentations
  • Partner with project management teams to align design deliverables with overall project execution plans
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Mentor junior engineers and design staff, supporting team development and knowledge sharing
