About The Position

The Design Manager is responsible for developing creative layouts for websites, landing pages, email, social media, digital ads, and more to create various projects that inspire external customers and the internal sales force. This person will collaborate with teams of designers, marketers, merchandisers, and category managers to create engaging customer experiences. Our goal is to constantly evolve our digital customer experience while working closely with other creatives to complete cohesive pieces and execute various campaign strategies. You will be coordinating projects through completion with other internal departments and partnering with outside vendors as needed. You will have access to and assistance from our in-house photography department and vendor provided assets to stylize and produce custom images. As a Design Manager, working in a fast-paced design environment requires the ability to balance multiple projects with quick-turn and longer deadlines and working side by side with others. As the Design Manager for one or multiple divisions/platforms, you will be the primary creative point of contact responsible for all related campaigns and projects. You will collaborate and communicate with teammates and management regarding creative project status, feedback and understanding priorities. This role will establish and implement design and format standards and processes to produce consistent and high-quality results.

Requirements

  • A strong understanding of email and web design best practices, current trends, and the technical capabilities and limitations of the web
  • Expert in Adobe Creative Suite and other digital design programs, Microsoft Office with strong typographic and layout skills
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • Proficient in HTML & CSS
  • Advanced understanding of Generative AI uses and applies as tool for creative efficiency.
  • Eye for clean, modern design and ability to leverage department technology and capabilities to bring designs to life.
  • Able to work in collaboration with and assist other creatives to complete all projects accurately and efficiently.
  • Adapt to existing processes and procedures, while staying current with programs to suggest new approaches to delivering better results.
  • Understanding of Asana or similar workflow platform.
  • Deep understanding of all aspects of the company and creative department.
  • Passion for sports. Sense of humor and the ability to solve creative challenges with a positive calm-under-pressure Team Player attitude.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in related field.
  • 10+ years of creative experience designing for interactive projects, including email, website, online advertising, social media and mobile.
  • An engaging digital portfolio demonstrating problem solving paired with engaging, responsive design experience for B2B and B2C audiences.
  • Proven success to effectively communicate (listening, written and verbal) across all levels of the organization.

  • Ecommerce brand experience a plus.
  • Experience working in a client services design agency a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of projects from concept to completion and capable of managing multiple projects/programs simultaneously and efficiently.
  • Develop and apply design system strategy for evolving brand consistency and scalable project efficiency.
  • Lead the collaboration with other designers to complete all projects accurately and efficiently.
  • Create impactful design aesthetic for various mediums that meet business goals.
  • Examine existing processes, identifying flaws, and creating solutions to improve design capability.
  • Help develop creative direction for the company.
  • Product projects within design specifications with scalable efficiency.
  • Perform retouching to existing content and recommend additional suggestions to enhance creativity.
  • Organize designs and assets properly through our server and file system.
  • Collaborate, brainstorm, and strategize with internal teams for a wide range of deliverables.
  • Attend and participate in department staff meetings, project-based meetings and divisional planning meetings.
