Requirements
- 5+ years’ experience in engineering and manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated proficiency with SolidWorks 3D/2D
- Proficient in MS Office application
- Demonstrated creative thinking and complex problem-solving skills; analytical; agile learner and thinker
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Ability to work independently and with teams
- Hands-on skills - proficient with hand tools and vertical milling machine
- Ability to prioritize, plan and organize
- A high degree of creativity
- Technical writing
- BS degree in mechanical, manufacturing, industrial engineering or equivalent
Nice To Haves
- Experience in the North American Fenestration Industry and standards preferred but not required
Responsibilities
- Design and develop products from concept to production
- Evaluate products, parts, or processes for strength, cost efficiency and reliability as required
- Work closely with manufacturing and engineering teams for product requirements
- Develop appropriate plans and prototypes, develop and run tests and make necessary improvements after analysis of designs
- Create 3D models, assemblies, BOMs, and fully detailed drawings
- Investigate and suggest improvements to products based on customers and sales feedback
- Coordinate product design introductions or changes with supply chain and manufacturing
- Limited domestic and international travel required
- Accountable for achieving engineering team objectives in relation to: Thorough, accurate and on-time work
- Design effectiveness and inventiveness as evaluated by the VP of Engineering
- Adequate and appropriate documentation is maintained for the engineering function
- All products meet the required industry standards
