If this sounds like a culture you would like to work in, you’re invited to apply for this role. We are seeking a Materials Engineer (PE licensed) to support pharmaceutical manufacturing projects. This position provides technical leadership for material selection, specification development, and procurement support for process and utility piping systems. The Materials Engineer will work with multi‑discipline teams to ensure materials are properly specified, procured, fabricated, installed, cleaned, tested, and documented in accordance with applicable codes, cGMP requirements, and client standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Materials Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license – required.
  • 7+ years of experience supporting pharmaceutical process and utility systems.
  • Strong understanding of GMP-driven engineering and documentation requirements.
  • Experience supporting multiple concurrent EPCM pharmaceutical projects.
  • Familiarity with: ASME BPE and hygienic piping practices.
  • Familiarity with: Orbital welding and surface finish requirements.
  • Familiarity with: EPC and EPCM execution models.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership for material selection, specification development, and procurement support for process and utility piping systems.
  • Work with multi‑discipline teams to ensure materials are properly specified, procured, fabricated, installed, cleaned, tested, and documented in accordance with applicable codes, cGMP requirements, and client standards.
  • Support GMP‑related material traceability and documentation requirements.
  • Provide Construction, Field & CQV Support.
  • Provide materials engineering expertise for pharmaceutical process and utility piping systems, for example: Drug substance and drug product process systems, PW, WFI, clean steam, and waste, drain and vent systems.
  • Perform material selection based on service conditions, corrosion mechanisms, hygienic design, constructability, and lifecycle considerations.
  • Apply and interpret client specifications, regulatory expectations, and industry standards.
  • Develop and maintain project‑specific material specifications and piping material classes.
  • Prepare and review construction specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with ASME B31, ASME BPE (where applicable), ASTM, and client standards.
  • Develop and maintain piping line list.
  • Coordinate with piping design, process, stress, automation, and construction teams to ensure technically accurate deliverables.
  • Provide Procurement Support & RFQs.
