BAE Systems is seeking an experienced supply chain professional with a continuous improvement mindset and an ability to challenge the status quo for the position of Deputy Vice President, Supply Chain. This position reports directly to the Vice President Supply Chain for an organization responsible for $3b+ in annual material requirements for the Electronic Systems (ES) Sector. With over 1100 supply chain professionals, the ES Sector supply chain team spans multiple locations primarily in the United States and the United Kingdom encompassing a broad range of technologies and requirements. The Deputy VP of Supply Chain is a critical leadership position responsible for assisting the Supply Chain VP in managing and improving the end-to-end supply chain results. This role involves developing and implementing strategies to enhance efficiency, and new toolsets that enable significant ramps across the business areas to ensure the cost effective and timely delivery of products and services to our customers. This role will build on a person’s skillsets, expose the individual to our different Business Areas, and will challenge an individual’s strategy thinking all while delivering unified standardized tool sets across the entire sector. Because this role involves a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work, it will take the form of a hybrid work format, with time split between working onsite and remotely.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in related discipline and 12 years or more of directly related work experience preferably in a government-contracting environment
  • Experience in a large, complex, multifaceted design & manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of defense aerospace industry & regulations and leading major procurement efforts in a Department of Defense (DOD) contracting environment
  • Experience with organizational change management projects and strategic planning to meet long term transformation goals
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to motivate and mentor a team. Excellent relationship / interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to foster and grow relationships cross-functionally
  • Financial acumen, with strong analytical and problem solving skills, with ability to make data-driven decisions
  • Strong understanding of supply chain strategies for commercial markets
  • Experience with supply chain software and technologies, such as Oracle ERP systems

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate degree in a related field
  • Well versed with Oracle ERP system
  • Lifecycle Management experience
  • 10 plus years’ experience in operations, supply chain, procurement
  • Professional Supply Chain Certification: C.P.M., C.P.S.M., P.M.P
  • Contracts background

Responsibilities

  • Enable Supply Chain strategy development to support scaling with speed while reducing risk
  • Leading Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning (SIOP) implementation across the Sector
  • Establishing our long term supply chain technology integration strategy
  • Partners with the Global Process Owner (GPO) to help drive AI tool sets to the team with a plan to scale a unified and standardized approach across the Sector
  • Partnering with Cross-Functional Teams (Supplier Quality and Programs) to Streamline and Right-Size the Supply Chain
  • Providing leadership, guidance, and mentorship to supply chain professionals to drive performance and achieve objectives
