About The Position

GALT Aerospace is seeking a talented Deputy Program Manager to support programs related to Military Airborne Communication Mission Payload Systems. At GALT Aerospace, Program Managers and Deputies are the Primary Customer Liaison and are responsible for leading engineering and production teams, members of GALT Aerospace support organizations, and suppliers to successfully accomplish projects within cost and schedule to the satisfaction of the customer. The Deputy Program Manager will report directly to the Director of Programs and support Program Manager(s) with their daily duties. Responsibilities also include support for tracking project financials, and building/nurturing client relationships with the US Department of Defense and US aerospace/defense companies. GALT Aerospace Deputy Program Managers must know the fundamentals of project and resource planning such as integrated master schedule, work breakdown structure, resourced scheduling including critical path determination, risk identification and mitigation, and are responsible to understand the basics of defense contracting and contracting with suppliers and sub-contractors. GALT Aerospace Deputy Program Managers have significant responsibility and are held accountable for program success. Time management skills are extremely important to effectively carry out the demands of this profession. They must be team-oriented, with effective communication and cooperation. Deputy Program Managers are expected to know industry norms, and safe practices to effectively carry out their duties.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Management and/or STEM/Engineering discipline with emphasis in management
  • 2+ years in Project/Program Management and/or Project Control and 5+ years in aerospace defense industry, with successful experience having increasing responsibilities in production projects, preferably as a DoD contractor
  • High level of skill with Microsoft Office tools including MS-Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Teams
  • A high level of skill, working with Enterprise Resource Planning Systems and dealing with large data sets
  • Ability to Lead others in demanding environments complying with and improving processes for more effective performance
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Active DOD Secret, TS/SCI, and/or SSBI clearance

  • Military &/or Aircraft related System Design and Integration and Test experience
  • A varied background with small to medium sized programs in a rapid prototyping to transfer to production.
  • 5+ Years in Industry and Technical Leadership
  • Proficient with Deltek CostPoint ERP system
  • Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM)
  • Team player with a proactive attitude and the ability to be productive in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment
  • Strong critical and analytical thinking
  • Ability to take initiative, multi-task and work well under pressure
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced studies and Continued Education in Program Management and Technical Leadership
