About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Deputy Program Manager to join our dynamic team, supporting a high-impact federally funded program. The Deputy Program Manager will work closely with the Program Director to oversee the successful execution of program activities, ensuring alignment with federal and state regulations, organizational goals, and stakeholder expectations. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent leadership capabilities, strong organizational skills, and a comprehensive understanding of program management.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, project management, or a related field plus 3 years of relevant professional experience is required.
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency with computer and online communications, embracing new technology, learning new programs quickly, and leveraging technology to enhance productivity.
  • Customer Service: Effective handling of client inquiries and issues, courteous and efficient communication, thorough knowledge of Arkansas APEX Accelerator services, and maintenance of a professional image.
  • Dependability: Consistently meets commitments, works independently, accepts accountability, manages change effectively, and meets attendance and punctuality requirements.
  • Integrity/Ethics: Acts honestly and transparently, maintains confidentiality, upholds organizational values, and delivers both positive and negative information professionally.

  • Certifications: PMP (Project Management Professional) or other relevant certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Program Oversight: Assist the Program Director in the overall management and administration of the Arkansas APEX Accelerator program, ensuring that objectives, timelines, and budgets are met.
  • Coordination: Coordinate with various stakeholders, including federal, state, and local government agencies, prime contractors, economic development agencies, small business support organizations, and internal teams, to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Project Management: Support the planning, execution, and monitoring of the program. Develop and manage project plans, schedules, and resource allocations.
  • Compliance: Ensure all program activities comply with federal and state regulations, policies, and procedures. Monitor compliance and address any issues or discrepancies.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present regular program status reports, including progress updates, financial reports, and risk assessments, to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and issues affecting the program and develop strategies for mitigation. Implement risk management plans and monitor their effectiveness.
  • Budget Management: Assist in the development and management of program budgets. Monitor expenditures, track financial performance, and ensure cost control.
  • Team Leadership: Support and mentor program staff. Facilitate team meetings, resolve conflicts, and promote a collaborative work environment.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive and accurate documentation related to program activities, including contracts, reports, and correspondence.
