About The Position

The Deputy Director of Ryan White Programs is responsible for developing and utilizing methods, processes and techniques to achieve clinical quality management outcomes. The Deputy Director of Ryan White Programs will revise policies and procedures and clinical work flows for treatment and care services.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in social work with a LCSW-C licensure and supervisor certification
  • Four years’ experience working in a social service environment; one year in an administrative or supervisory capacity.
  • Relevant experience and sensitivity to HIV/AIDS; African Americans and other vulnerable populations and the issues faced.
  • An awareness of Ryan White standards of care and clinical quality management practices.
  • Motivated, organized, and detail-oriented.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Ability to multi-task and handle several program components at one time.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and to function independently under dynamic circumstances is critical.
  • Proficient computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office applications – specifically Excel, Word, Access, and Outlook required.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise licensed social workers and other program support staff.
  • Master CAREWare operations and serve as backup for imports from EMR and uploads to state CAREWare system.
  • Review client level data reports and progress in achieving Ryan White work plan/scope goals during staff supervisions.
  • Maintain a list of all active patients and appropriate follow up by case managers.
  • Monitor the viral load suppression status of HIV positive patients.
  • Audit client electronic charts for updated eligibility, assessments, treatment plans, and referrals to primary care and other health and support services.
  • Verify new intakes and referrals/transfers to Non-Medical Case Management.
  • Monitor co-morbid clients with substance use and mental health disorders and compliance to treatment and care.
  • Develop annual Quality Management Plan and quarterly updates; oversee PDSAs (Plan, Do, Study Act) and semi-annual performance improvement reports
  • Revise Hidden Garden policies and procedures manual and work flows
  • Facilitate training and development sessions
  • Monitor swipes and approve requests for leave
  • Monitor weekly time and efforts reports
  • Complete performance appraisals for clinical and support staff
  • Participate in the recruitment and hiring process
  • Provide backup psychotherapy for clients/household members needing professional counseling
  • Facilitate HIV group sessions when needed
  • Monitor contact with new and potential outreach partners and attend meetings with Outreach staff to develop and build referral relationships
  • Participate in Ryan White grantor meetings as required.
