About The Position
Under constant supervision from Sheriff Academy Cadre and sworn personnel, this position is responsible for attending and successfully completing the Sheriff Academy by fulfilling the academic and physical requirements of the Basic Peace Officer Course to qualify for commission as a peace officer with Dallas County.
Requirements
- Sheriff’s Department ID and/or current Texas Driver’s License (copy of front and back)
- Completion of an online application in Dallas County’s Oracle Fusion application tracking system
- A certified copy of college transcript(s), if education is going to be substituted
- A copy of your DD214, if military experience is going to be substituted
Responsibilities
- Attending and successfully completing the Sheriff Academy
- Fulfilling the academic and physical requirements of the Basic Peace Officer Course
- Qualifying for commission as a peace officer with Dallas County
