About The Position

The Deposit Operations Specialist is primarily responsible for performing and overseeing File Maintenance Checkback processes to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of deposit account maintenance activities. This role conducts post-maintenance reviews, identifies and resolves exceptions, and supports consistent application of account maintenance standards across all branches. The Specialist also assists with related deposit operations functions and special projects as assigned. Preferred location is in one of our Northern Colorado branches (Loveland, Greeley, Fort Collins). It is not a remote position. Internal candidates can be considered from any First National bank branch with available room to staff the position.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, with the ability to review, track, and document detailed information accurately.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify inconsistencies within account records and supporting documentation.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous banking operations experience in accounting or deposit operations preferred.
  • General understanding of Accounting concepts and banking regulations a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform File Maintenance Checkback reviews to verify accuracy, completeness, and compliance of deposit account changes initiated by branch or operational staff.
  • Identify, research, and resolve file maintenance exceptions or errors, ensuring timely correction and appropriate documentation.
  • Monitor trends and recurring issues within file maintenance activities; escalate concerns and recommend process improvements as needed.
  • Ensure file maintenance activities comply with internal policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as a subject matter resource for branch staff regarding file maintenance standards, documentation requirements, and best practices.
  • Provide feedback, education, and guidance to branches and operations teams to promote consistent execution of file maintenance procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records and reporting related to checkback findings, corrections, and outstanding issues.
  • Support overall deposit operations functions, including monitoring and cleanup activities, quality control tasks, and special projects as assigned.
