Job Summary: As a Deposit Operations Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and accurate processing of deposit accounts within our financial institution. You will handle a variety of tasks related to digital banking, account maintenance, and customer inquiries, ensuring compliance with banking regulations and internal policies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent, preferred
  • 1 to 3 years banking or accounting experience, preferred
  • Proficient with Excel
  • Excellent personal computer skills
  • Good interpersonal skills; professional in appearance and communication
  • Previous banking experience, preferred
  • The ability to sit for lengthy periods of time
  • Frequent use of computer, calculator and other office equipment
  • Occasional local travel including driving of vehicle
  • Occasionally lift up to 20 lbs waist height

Responsibilities

  • Quality Control: Perform quality checks on transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness. Responsible for new account and closed account review. Processes mobile/remote deposit verification.
  • General Ledger (GL) Processing: Process GL transactions, including researching rejected transactions.
  • Account Maintenance: Perform reviews of account maintenance tasks such as address changes, account closures, debit card maintenance, and updates to customer information record.
  • Customer Service: Respond to customer inquiries and resolve issues related to deposit accounts in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with banking regulations, including Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements.
  • Risk Management: Identify and report potential risks related to deposit operations.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other departments such as customer service, compliance, and IT to resolve issues, provide backup, and improve processes.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records and documentation of transactions, customer interactions, and operational procedures.
  • Process Improvement: Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Training: Complete required training assigned by compliance/IT. Provide training and support to new employees or team members as needed.
