What it's like to be a Deposit Operations Clerk? As a Full-Time Deposit Operations Clerk at Zeal Credit Union in Bessemer, MI, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Operations Department by processing Federal Funds transactions and ensuring accuracy in daily reports and member notices. Your attention to detail will drive you to perform daily certifications, reconcile various financial documents such as expense checks and cashier’s checks, and clear non-posted items, all while maintaining a proper paper trail. You'll utilize your problem-solving skills to resolve any discrepancies and follow up on out-of-balance items, ensuring the integrity of our operations. What we're looking for in a Deposit Operations Clerk

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Basic knowledge of related state and federal banking compliance regulations and other Credit Union operational policies.
  • General banking experience methods and procedures related to Federal Funds transactions and credit union account or general ledger reconciliation.
  • Intermediate skills in computer terminal and personal computer operation and mainframe computer system.
  • Intermediate typing skills to meet production needs of the position.
  • Basic math skills; calculate interest and balance accounts; add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; locate routine mathematical errors; count currency coin and negotiable instruments in a timely manner.
  • Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions, interpret documents, understand procedures, write correspondence, and speak clearly to members and employees.
  • Ability to deal with difficult problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision while performing duties.
