Job Description: About Us The Elliot Pain Management and Interventional Spine Center at River's Edge is a multi-disciplinary group of professionals committed to the compassionate treatment of patients in pain. The Center specializes in the scientific assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of pain-related disorders. We believe that early diagnosis and minimally invasive interventional therapy substantially reduce the number of patients requiring surgery or proceeding toward disability. Position Summary - Monday-Friday, 8am-5:00pm, 40 hours weekly Provides general office support within the Pain Management Center. Under the general direction of the Manager of the Interventional Spine Center and the direct supervision of the Office Coordinator and within established policies and procedures, the incumbent performs the following functions:

Requirements

  • Education: High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of related experience, preferably in a health care environment.
  • Software/Hardware: Microsoft Office

Nice To Haves

  • Education in anatomy and physiology preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Checks patients in and out, makes appointments, and collects co-pays.
  • Verifies accuracy of information by identifying patient’s name, hospital number, location in hospital and address, which may involve the use of patient files.
  • Develops the proficiency necessary on current equipment used including word processors, mainframe computer terminals, or other such devices.
  • Follows specified procedures for dispatching finished reports to designated person(s) for approval and signature, and for dispatching copies to appropriate parties.
  • Maintains all logs, records, or other files necessary to accurately track production for present and future references.
  • Exercises care in the use and operation of Elliot Hospital equipment and reference materials.
  • Ensures routine preventive maintenance to ensure continued functioning of equipment.
  • Maintains work area in a clean and organized manner.
  • Provides secretarial support as requested.
  • Types all memos, letters, meeting agendas, policies and procedures, as needed.
  • Sorts and distributes department mail and faxes.
  • Ensures confidentiality of employee, legal, client/patient, budget and all company matters.
  • Performs photocopying duties and all duties to prepare documents for scanning into the EMR.
  • Monitors inventory levels and orders equipment and office supplies.
  • Collects, validates and enters all patient charges in the computer system.
