About The Position

The Dental Scheduler provides administrative support to the dental clinic staff and ensures the efficient, timely and accurate delivery of dental services to patients. Appropriately schedules patients for dental services. Ensures the accurate recording of patient information and billing data. Provides efficient delivery of healthcare services in a professional manner.

Requirements

  • Either High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certification required.
  • Minimum of 1 year previous dental related experience required.
  • Experience scheduling high volume of appointment on a daily basis required.
  • Experience with scheduling software required.
  • Requires first aid and CPR certificate or ability to obtain 90 days after employment.
  • Requires knowledge of computers including Windows and MS Office, credit card processing, multi-line phone system.
  • Must pass a pre-employment or for cause drug tests.
  • Must pass criminal background and DMV checks.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous dental insurance knowledge preferred
  • Dental terminology experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Athena and/or Dentrix software preferred.
  • Experience working within the Native American/Alaska Native community preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Schedules all dental appointments using Dentrix software
  • Answers phones in a courteous timely manner.
  • Obtains client information by answering telephone calls, interviewing clients and verifying information.
  • Ensures patient eligibility for services
  • Determines patient’s benefits by contacting insurance company and collecting uncovered portions from patient or setting up payment plans in coordination with the billing department
  • Determines and collects payments, co-payments, and lab fees
