Requirements

Valid Dental Hygiene or Registered Dental Hygiene License
Valid Independent Certification and/or License to practice independently
Requires travel up to 100% of the time.
Must have own reliable transportation, good driving record, and car insurance.

Responsibilities

Conduct thorough oral health assessments, including for signs of oral diseases and abnormalities.
Act as an autonomous clinician responsible for comprehensive oral hygiene assessments.
Perform dental cleanings, including removing plaque, calculus, and stains from teeth.
Apply preventative treatments like fluoride applications and sealants.
Educate patients and families on proper oral hygiene practices, including brushing, flossing and dietary recommendations.
Take digital dental x-rays as needed.
Accurately and timely update patient records including documenting treatments and observations.
Assist Dentist during exams and procedures as needed.
Assist with patient transportation.
Communicate effectively with all patients, family members, providers, faculty, and staff.
Provide timely responses to patient inquiries; document conversations in the EMR.
