About The Position

This position is located at Tabor Correctional Institution in Tabor City, NC 28463 and reports to the Dentist assigned to the facility. Tabor CI is a close, medium and minimum custody prison housing male offenders. The facility is designed to house a maximum capacity of 1,752 offenders. This is skilled work in rendering technical assistance to dentists in the care of dental patients. This position provides primary clinical support for offender care by performing dental assisting duties in a variety of clinical settings, i.e., emergency care, general dentistry, restorative dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, orthodontics, prosthodontics, pediatric dentistry, periodontics, and radiology.

Requirements

Completion of a dental assistant program from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of on-the-job training as a dental assistant and required x-ray training when needed; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

Documented experience in the utilization of dental instruments, procedures, and equipment.
Demonstrated knowledge of preparation methods and dental materials
Documented experience in maintaining dental records.
