About The Position

The Deli Attendant serves food, beverages, or desserts to guests in a 24/7 café venue. This role involves performing cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, and transporting dishes to maintain sanitary conditions. The attendant is responsible for scrubbing and polishing counters, steam tables, and other equipment, as well as cleaning glasses, dishes, and fountain equipment. They wrap menu items like sandwiches, hot entrees, and desserts for serving or takeout, prepare bills using MICROS POS, and handle payments. Other tasks include brewing coffee and tea, filling beverage containers, cooking or preparing food items such as sandwiches, pizzas, and salads following standard formulas, and replenishing foods at serving stations. The attendant also balances receipts and payments in cash drawers, takes and enters guest orders into MICROS POS, provides ticket receipts, adds relishes and garnishes to food orders, delivers orders to kitchens, picks up and serves food, orders supplies, and sets up and clears dining areas. A key aspect of the role is performing for or working directly with the public, serving guests and clients.

Requirements

  • A combination of experience or training will be considered.
  • Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ability to calculate figures, amounts, discounts, and percentages and apply to practical situations.
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems with multiple variables.
  • Ability to obtain the appropriate work authorization per local, state, federal, and gaming regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Scrubs and polishes counters, steam tables, and other equipment; cleans glasses, dishes, and fountain equipment.
  • Wraps menu items such as sandwiches, hot entrees, and desserts for serving or for takeout.
  • Prepares bills for food using MICROS POS; accepts payment or makes change.
  • Brews coffee and tea; fills containers with requested beverages.
  • Cooks food or prepares food items such as sandwiches, pizzas, and salads, using standard formulas or following directions.
  • Replenishes foods at serving stations.
  • Balances receipts and payments in cash drawers.
  • Takes guests’ orders and enters orders into MICROS POS, giving ticket receipts to guests when needed to identify filled orders.
  • Adds relishes and garnishes to food orders, according to recipe/instructions.
  • Delivers orders to kitchens and picks up and serves food when it is ready.
  • Orders items needed to replenish supplies.
  • Sets up dining areas for meals and clears them following meals.
