About The Position

The deli third person is responsible for the operation of the department in the absence of the manager or assistant manager. This role involves managing department inventory, pricing, merchandising, and labor and safety rules. They order products and supplies, schedule work to maximize sales and gross profit, and ensure new department employees receive proper training and safety instruction on all deli equipment. The position also includes supervising correct ordering, receiving, unloading, storage, rotation of merchandise, and building of displays. Additionally, the deli third person is responsible for various other tasks in the store, ensuring all employees meet safety standards, and adhering to strict standards of sanitation, food safety, and personal hygiene.
