About The Position

LaunchTech is seeking a Defense Red Switch Network (DRSN) Engineer to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. This role is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and sustainment of secure voice and data communications systems supporting the Defense Red Switch Network. The DRSN Engineer will ensure system availability, security compliance, and operational excellence in support of mission-critical communications.

Requirements

  • Must have 2, or more, years of directly related Defense Red Switch Network (DRSN) experience
  • Must have technical experience with DRSN nodal maintenance and secure communications instruments including STE, vIPer, VoSIP, IST-2, TXP, and DMCC
  • Must have an active DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (Security+ or equivalent)
  • Must have an active DoD Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI Eligibility

Nice To Haves

  • Have Red Switch certificate of training or 4 years of Red Switch experience
  • Be certified for Command and Control Switching Systems (CCSS) operation and maintenance through Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC)
  • Have hands-on experience engineering and troubleshooting DRSN and DSS networks
  • Have experience developing Local Service Requests (LSRs), Change Requests, circuit diagrams, and line button layout sheets
  • Have strong knowledge of encryption hardware used in DRSN and DSS networks
  • Have experience supporting operational networks, tech-control environments, crypto maintenance, COMSEC, or systems administration
  • Have a current CISSP certification

Responsibilities

  • Maintain secure voice and data communications systems, equipment, and circuits supporting the Defense Red Switch Network (DRSN)
  • Perform routine installations, periodic maintenance, and demand maintenance for DRSN systems
  • Provide technical expertise to ensure telecommunications programs meet functional requirements, security standards, compatibility, and compliance with government and industry standards
  • Document and report daily status of assigned responsibilities
  • Perform organization-level scheduled, unscheduled, preventive, and corrective maintenance for DRSN hardware, software, firmware, and OEM equipment
  • Operate, administer, and maintain all DRSN hardware and software components
  • Perform database management of DRSN switches including database modifications, report creation, backups, documentation, and audits
  • Develop and maintain operational status reports and Master Station Logs
  • Perform periodic rekey of cryptographic equipment
  • Monitor and analyze CCSS system performance and resolve issues as needed
  • Maintain accurate equipment inventories and update equipment databases
  • Ensure trouble tickets are properly documented and resolved in accordance with customer repair requirements
  • Respond to service requests in a timely and professional manner
  • Utilize incident management tools to document outages, degradations, isolations, escalations, and resolutions throughout the incident lifecycle
