About The Position

Tyto Athene is searching for a DCO Engineer to support a DoD customer in Adelphi, Maryland. The DCO Engineer provides network and computer systems administration supporting the C5ISR Center Cyber Security Service Provider (CSSP) computational and operational infrastructure. This position is responsible for ongoing support, development, and modernization of infrastructure spanning workstations, cluster-based and cloud-based server environments, and remotely deployed sensors and scanners across classified and unclassified network. Operate and sustain DCO information systems deployed internally and externally at subscriber sites supporting the cybersecurity mission. Perform 24/7 systems administration operations of DCSB CSSP Command and Control (C2) information systems. Configure, build, install, and ship servers and workstations (RHEL and Windows operating systems). Maintain proactive assessment and remediation processes for all systems using DoD-mandated vulnerability scanning and compliance tools. Troubleshoot and resolve DCSB C2 Infrastructure operating system, configuration, network, and hardware issues. Support Risk Management Framework (RMF) accreditation and authorization including ATO package development, eMASS documentation, and Plan of Actions & Milestones (POA&M) management. Ensure Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) compliance and vulnerability remediation across all managed systems. Research new tools, techniques, technologies, or architectures including ML/AI, cloud environments, and virtualization. Support Continuity of Operations (COOP) capability for DCSB critical operations. Integrate applications or tools developed by other teams into the CSSP infrastructure. Manage system backups, disaster recovery procedures, and data integrity processes. Coordinate with software development teams to deploy and maintain custom applications. Support cross-domain solutions and network security boundary protections. Maintain system documentation, network diagrams, and configuration baselines.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in a related technical field is required, however, can be replaced with 3 years of relevant industry experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience requirement).
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in network/systems administration.
  • Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Windows Server administration.
  • Knowledge of network protocols, TCP/IP, routing, switching, and firewall technologies.
  • Experience with cloud computing environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and virtualization technologies (VMware).
  • Familiarity with DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes and eMASS.
  • Experience with ACAS/Tenable vulnerability scanning and STIG implementation.
  • Knowledge of network security principles, access control, and authentication mechanisms.
  • Experience with scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell) for system automation.
  • Familiarity with Elasticsearch cluster administration and management.
  • ITIL Foundations certification required within three (3) months of start date.
  • Certifications: IAT - I: CompTIA A+, Network+, SSCP, CCNA IAT - II: Security + CE, CySA+, SSCP, CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC
  • TS/SCI Clearance required.
