About The Position

Position Summary: The Distribution Center Supervisor maintains high performance objectives for all departmental standards, will provide operational leadership and lead a team of hourly employees. Essential Functions of this Role: The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Monitor department employee timecards on ADP Delegate and ensure the execution of daily tasks are completed and deadlines are met Make corrective action and disciplinary decisions as well recognize individuals for their achievements Partner with Human Resources and be involved in the hiring process Communicate performance expectations to include productivity, attendance and other performance standards Organize and conduct necessary training and adhere to safety and legal procedures Supervise shift allocations and department transfers, ensure efficiency of warehouse staff, and maintain proper functioning of all warehouse tools and equipment Work side by side with employees daily to maximize performance and throughput Responsible for all production efforts Maintain an accurate and productive work environment aimed at consistently achieving high customer service standards Set priorities which accurately reflect the relative importance of job responsibilities Supervise daily procedures of various departments and/or employees and ensure smooth flow of work Communicate with various employees, departments, vendors, and others to provide and receive information, resolve questions and issues, and coordinate activities Act as a bridge for communication between the operations manager and the employees Operate and instruct others in the operation of material moving equipment, stand up forklift and related vehicles inside the warehouse Determine sequence for loading and unloading shipments for maximum space utilization, safety and damage protection Inspect and perform minor maintenance on equipment daily; arrange for maintenance and repair of warehouse equipment as needed Perform computer lookup/inquiries to determine product location and/or description Maintain inventory controls by collecting stock location orders, printing requests, recording amounts of items received, and counting of physical inventory Operate manual dollies, manual platform lifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and hand tools used in warehouse operations safely and as instructed Identify obvious damage to equipment and materials through visual inspection Attention to detail and ability to follow directions to meet deadlines Follows all safety and security procedures Meet or exceed accuracy and productivity expectations Assist in other departments of the warehouse as necessary Work Environment Must be able to work in a warehouse environment with variable noise levels, lighting conditions, and temperature variations Due to forklifts and other equipment traveling through the warehouse the environment can be noisy, dusty, may emit gas fumes and create excessive vibrations Physical Demands: Must be able to move around in a large, fast-paced warehouse for 8 or more Requires the ability to lift, carry, push or pull up to 75lbs frequently Prolonged periods of standing and walking on concrete surfaces Requires bending, squatting, climbing and reaching Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations Expected Hours of Work: Must be available during standard operating hours, Monday thru Friday Start and end times may vary due to operational need Remain flexible with working schedules is required, to include working overtime, evenings, and weekends Travel: None Required Education, Experience and Skills: Must be at least 18 years of age High School diploma or equivalent required; bachelors or an associate degree preferred 2+ years of proven distribution supervisory experience is desired Good organization, leadership and time management skills Excellent interpersonal communication skills Must be a quick learner with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, maintain focus and adapt to a variety of challenges Positive attitude - work as part of a team and/or independently Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relations with people in different functions Active listening skills Basic math, reading and voice comprehension is a must Computer literate with experience using Microsoft office including Outlook, Word and Excel Maintain regular attendance Preferred Education, Experience and Skills: Reliable transportation Previous knowledge of voice replenishment and RF equipment a plus Previous receiving experience preferred Basic knowledge of general warehouse layout, item identification, warehouse procedures and storage areas to pull stock and materials Forklift certifiable Additional Eligibility Qualifications: To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactory. Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High School diploma or equivalent required; bachelors or an associate degree preferred
  • 2+ years of proven distribution supervisory experience is desired
  • Good organization, leadership and time management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
