The Warehouse and Distribution Center job family manages the storage, transport and distribution of equipment, materials and products sold and produced by the organization. General areas of responsibility include receiving supplier shipments; picking customer orders; shipping, transportation and delivery of materials and customer orders; and inventory organization, management and control. Positions in receiving are responsible for taking receipt of inbound materials and finished products from vendors and suppliers. Work consists of tasks that are very routine, or well defined, with specific instructions to achieve standardized solutions. Problem solving: Problems and issues faced are routine and solutions are clear. Follows a well established and familiar set of job activities and/or job process to solve a problem.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the initial physical receipt, processing, audit reconciliation, visual inspection of goods, and identification and counting of incoming material.
  • Accurately receives goods, verifies items against the record of shipment, and inspects condition.
  • Records received and shipped items according to established procedures.
  • Responsible for inspection, identification, and delivery to stocking locations.
  • Represent the FEI organization to customers, associates and leadership as needed.
  • Accurately enter data into a database or other computerized system to maintain up-to-date stock records; retrieve stored information; place orders; or respond to enquiries (for example on inventory levels or delivery schedules).
  • Perform other routine clerical activities according to the organization's established procedures. These activities may include answering telephones; updating stock cards and inventory records; and completing receipt, transfer, delivery, and dispatch forms.
  • Participates in associate meetings and communicates any concerns to management.
  • Adhering to all policies, rules, regulations, and procedures.
  • Performing other duties or functions as requested by management.
