Company Benefits Opeeka offers a full range of competitive Company benefits to eligible employees: Vacation Full-time employees are eligible to earn and accrue vacation upon the first day of work. All full-time employees are eligible to accrue at least 80 hours of paid vacation time annually, and annual vacation time increases based on tenure. Sick Time All employees will be granted 5 days (40 hours) of paid sick leave in a lump sum at the time of hire and subsequently, at the beginning of each year on January 1st. Employees may begin to use paid sick leave on their 90th day of employment (or sooner, if applicable law requires). Employees can use up to 5 days (40 hours) of paid sick leave per year. Holiday Pay Upon hire, all employees will receive holiday pay for the Company observed holidays, which includes all Federal Holidays and the day after Thanksgiving. Medical Insurance Benefits Opeeka provides the option of a comprehensive medical insurance plan for eligible full-time employees and their dependents. Employees are eligible to enroll in the medical program on the first of the month following 30 days of continuous employment. The Company will pay a portion of the medical insurance premium, up to $800 per employee and up to $600 for covered dependent(s). Medical insurance benefits are available to employees, the employee’s spouse or registered domestic partner, and the employee’s legal dependents. Dental and Vision Benefits Eligible full-time employees may also enroll in an employee only, an employee plus children or a family contract on the first of the month following 30 days of employment. For eligible full-time employees, the Company will contribute 100% of the Dental plan cost for the Employee. Employee is responsible for 100% of the cost for covered dependent(s). Employees are responsible for 100% of the cost of Vision coverage. Retirement Plan Opeeka provides eligible full-time employees with a Safe Harbor 401k plan. The Company will match an employee’s elective contributions on a dollar-for-dollar basis, up to 4% of your annual compensation. Full-time employees are eligible to enroll in the 401K plan following 90 days of continuous employment. Job Summary Works closely with the Opeeka development team and is responsible for designing, developing, administering, and evolving SQL Server databases that support data collection, analytics, and reporting for Opeeka’s Person Centered Intelligence System (P-CIS). This role partners with internal stakeholders to capture requirements and to design, build, document, and maintain reliable, performant data solutions including operational databases, analytics models, and reporting structures. Collaborates with development teams in a code-first environment to support application data needs, review database-related pull requests, and guide the implementation of SQL logic, migrations, and performance best practices. Acts as an advocate for appropriate placement of business logic within the database to promote reuse, consistency, and data integrity across platforms. Works with internal and external customers to define, design, and develop data pipelines, data stores, and ETL processes for both operational and analytical use cases. Contributes to the architecture and evolution of data strategies that enable secure, scalable, and high-performance use of the data platform for Power BI and other business intelligence, analytics, and querying solutions. Collaborates with team members to analyze user needs and enhance existing systems, applying principles of computer science, engineering, and data architecture. May work with cloud engineering teams to integrate cloud and software systems, define performance requirements, and support database solutions in Azure environments. Provides hands-on expertise in database design, development, performance tuning, and administration, working independently or as part of a cross-functional team.

Requirements

  • Advanced SQL development, analytics development, report development, and relational database design.
  • Strong experience with MS SQL Server and T-SQL in production environments.
  • Ability to support and collaborate with code-first development teams using Entity Framework.
  • Ability to work with diverse data formats and transport methods, including CSV/XML/JSON flat files, SFTP exchanges, APIs, and structured database extracts.
  • Experience reviewing pull requests and acting as a code owner for SQL migrations and database-related logic.
  • Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle and agile development practices.
  • Ability to champion the centralization of shared business logic within the database to enable reuse across applications and tools.
  • Proven analytical, troubleshooting, and performance-tuning skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities, with comfort partnering closely with developers and architects.
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and provide technical guidance.
  • High attention to detail and a strong commitment to data integrity, reliability, and security.
  • Willingness to learn, adapt, and contribute to evolving tools, technologies, and methodologies.
  • Proven understanding of database concepts, relational modeling, and SQL best practices.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience administering SQL Server instances, including database creation, access management, and security.
  • Proven experience with database performance tuning, indexing strategies, query optimization, and monitoring.
  • Demonstrated understanding of data controls, constraints, and safeguards implemented at the database level.
  • Familiarity with cloud data services and tooling, with Microsoft Azure preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of CI/CD concepts as they relate to database deployments and schema changes.
  • Proven understanding of migration-based and state-based database object management approaches.
  • Awareness of data security, compliance, and best practices.
  • BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5-10 years of hands-on experience in a DBA, SQL Developer, or similar role.
  • Experience supporting modern application development teams in a code-first environment.
  • Experience with Entity Framework–generated SQL and direct SQL usage within application code.
  • Experience with database migrations, schema versioning, and deployment processes.
  • Working knowledge of scripting or programming languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python, or C#) sufficient to read, write, and understand application logic.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Confluence, Jira, BitBucket, and/or Azure DevOps is a plus.
  • Knowledge of healthcare interoperability concepts (HL7, FHIR, or similar), if applicable to customer integrations.
  • Experience with data warehousing concepts, ETL processes, or static data management is a plus.
  • Experience building and supporting ETL workflows for customer onboarding, including data transformation, validation, and integration across files, APIs, and external databases.
  • Related development experience (.NET Core, NodeJS, JSON) is advantageous.
