Day Shift Mechanic Trainee
About The Position
Heidelberg Materials is one of the world's largest suppliers of building materials. Assist with inspections, maintenance, and repairs on mobile and plant equipment Learn diagnostic procedures and support troubleshooting activities Perform basic mechanical tasks under the guidance of experienced technicians Maintain clean and organized work areas and follow all safety procedures Support the team with parts handling, documentation, and equipment checks
Requirements
- Interest in developing mechanical skills in a hands-on environment
- Ability to follow instructions and learn technical procedures
- Strong focus on safety and awareness around equipment and tools
- Reliability, teamwork, and willingness to contribute to daily operations
- Capability to work in outdoor and industrial conditions
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb for extended periods
- Capability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds as needed
- Sufficient manual dexterity to use tools and handle mechanical components
- Ability to work in environments with dust, noise, and varying temperatures
- Capacity to enter and exit equipment or work areas using steps, ladders, and platforms
- Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug, and background check
- Some positions require FMCSA regulated ongoing drug and alcohol testing
