The Center for Disability Services is hiring Day Program Counselors, also referred to as Direct Support Professionals, to join their Day Services Team. This role is an opportunity for individuals already in the human service field or those looking to start a new career, as paid on-the-job training is provided and prior experience is not required. Counselors will empower people with intellectual and developmental disabilities through meaningful and engaging opportunities and activities, both onsite and in the community. These activities include bowling, cooking, dance, crafts, volunteering, games, music, photography, exercising, shopping, and exploring the community. The Center for Disability Services has been a trusted community leader for over 80 years, providing innovative programs and services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the Capital Region and North Country, having served over 12,000 people.
