About The Position
JV Janitorial Services is seeking a dependable Day Porter to support a client site at a men’s shelter in downtown Cleveland. This is a Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM position working independently to help maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for staff, residents, and visitors. The ideal candidate will play an important part in supporting a facility that serves the community. We’re looking for someone who takes pride in their work and understands the impact of maintaining a clean and welcoming space.
Requirements
- Strong reliability and consistent attendance
- Ability to work independently and stay on task without direct supervision
- Professional, respectful demeanor in a community-based environment
- Comfortable working in a high-traffic setting serving vulnerable populations
- Ability to remain focused and composed in an active, sometimes unpredictable environment
Nice To Haves
- Previous commercial cleaning experience is a plus
- Ideal for individuals with prior experience in facilities, healthcare, or high-traffic public environments
Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness of restrooms, common areas, offices, and entryways
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust throughout the shift
- Remove trash and keep high-traffic areas presentable
- Perform ongoing touch-point cleaning and spot cleaning as needed
- Communicate any supply or maintenance needs
