An Adamah Camp Counselor is excited to share in our mission by creating and facilitating transformational experiences out in nature and has a background in sharing Jewish values or is comfortable with learning how. Adamah Counselors are nature-inspired, creative, patient, kind, curious, good listeners, playful, flexible, and hard-working. The camp day is from 9:00AM-4:00PM (bus counselors work before and after). Counselors spend the whole day outdoors leading interactive activities and assisting specialists. This job description does not state or imply that the above are the only duties and responsibilities assigned to the position. Requirements
- Day Camp counselors should be local (within ~40 mins) to Pearlstone Retreat Center and have consistent transportation either directly to camp, or to one of the Day Camp bus stops.
- All applicants should be responsible and enjoy working with children and spending time in nature.
Responsibilities
- Engaging campers in activities that introduce them to the natural world.
- Creating a safe space–physically and emotionally–for campers through proper supervision.
- Planning and leading outdoor camp activities alone or with co-counselor(s) and specialists.
- Supervising and participating in games, pool and creek activities, art workshops, cooking, and song sessions.
- Setting up, breaking down, cleaning, and putting away all materials used.
