About The Position

Our client is a leading energy company seeking a skilled Database Analyst with a passion for data quality and process improvement. This 6-month contract role is perfect for a detail-oriented professional who combines strong SQL expertise with business analysis skills. You'll play a crucial role in maintaining database integrity while partnering with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions. Position Details: Duration: 6 months Location: Palm Beach Gardens, FL (On-site) Hours: 40 hours/week, Standard business hours (8-5)

Requirements

  • 6-10 years of experience in database analysis, data quality, or similar technical role
  • Expert-level SQL skills, particularly with PostgreSQL
  • Advanced Excel proficiency including pivot tables, complex formulas, and data analysis tools
  • Experience with relational database design and data modeling concepts
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail
  • Business analysis experience with requirements gathering and stakeholder management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Experience with data quality frameworks and validation methodologies

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Power Query and advanced Excel automation
  • Knowledge of data governance principles and practices
  • Background in the energy/utilities industry
  • Experience with predictive analytics or data science projects
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, update, and audit relational databases (PostgreSQL), ensuring accuracy, consistency, and traceability
  • Write and optimize complex SQL queries, including multi-table joins, aggregations, and validation checks
  • Perform comprehensive data quality checks, reconcile discrepancies, and document root causes and solutions
  • Build and maintain Excel-based audit tools using pivots, lookups, and Power Query for reporting and verification
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to gather requirements, challenge assumptions, and translate business needs into data definitions
  • Create and maintain technical documentation for processes, procedures, and data definitions
  • Conduct end-to-end validation of data processes and results
  • Support predictive analytics initiatives through data preparation and quality assurance
