The Data Quality & Governance Engineer is responsible for ensuring the data across our consumer data platform is accurate, consistent, documented, and trustworthy. This role focuses on implementing frameworks and processes to maintain high data integrity, which is foundational to all analytics and activation use cases.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in data quality, data governance, or a related data engineering field.
  • Expert-level SQL skills for data profiling, analysis, and validation.
  • Solid understanding of ETL/ELT development and data modeling concepts.
  • A meticulous and detail-oriented mindset with a passion for data accuracy.

Nice To Haves

  • Programming experience in Python for writing custom data quality checks and automation.
  • Experience working in a cloud data warehouse environment like Snowflake.
  • Familiarity with data privacy regulations and concepts.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the subject matter expert for our product analytics platform, Amplitude, driving its adoption and ensuring data integrity.
  • Partner with Product and Marketing teams to define KPIs and build dashboards and reports to monitor user engagement, feature adoption, and campaign performance.
  • Implement and manage automated data quality testing and validation frameworks within our ETL/ELT pipelines (DBT tests, Great Expectations).
  • Excellent data analysis skills (using Sql, GraphQL) to identify root cause of issues
  • Act as the primary owner of the data quality assurance framework, investigating and triaging data issues and driving them to resolution.
  • Work with source system owners and analysts to define and enforce data standards.
